* - Injury replacement

What happened to Joel Parkinson and Kai Otton? Why can't I pick them for my team?

ANSWER: Joel Parkinson and Kai Otton are both injured. Otton (neck) and Parko (foot) are both expected to be ready for the next event in Tahiti, but will not surf at J-Bay. They have been replaced in the draw by Joan Duru and Tim Reyes. Both Duru and Reyes are now available for trading.

What is the time difference between J-Bay and the United States?

ANSWER: J-Bay is 6 hours ahead of the US East Coast, and 9 hours ahead of the US West Coast. That means that 7am Thursday morning in J-Bay is 1am Thursday morning in New York and 10pm Wednesday evening in Los Angeles.

Who are the three wildcards for this event and what heats will they be surfing in?

ANSWER: Two of the wildcards have been announced; Sean Holmes and Shawn Joubert. The third wildcard will be the winner of the Von Zipper Super Heat being held immediately before Round 1. The three wildcards will be surfing in heats 8, 9, and 10. It has not yet been announced which surfer will be in which heat, and we are likely not going to find out that information until Round 1 has already begun, so don't waste time waiting for the information to be announced. All three are available for trading - choose now!
